History
Steve Dalzell graduated with a Bachelor of Business Administration degree from St. Bonaventure University in St. Bonaventure, New York and then earned his Graduate Gemologist degree from the world-renowned Gemological Institute of America (G.I.A.) in 1991, followed by his Graduate Jeweler degree in 1992.
Steve formed Dalzell & Co. Fine & Antique Jewelry in 1996, working at first by appointment only from an office in Crystal Lake. In 1998 Dalzell &. Co. opened its first showroom at 23 North Williams Street in Historic Downtown Crystal Lake, offering the area a unique selection of designer and custom-made jewelry items, along with watches and giftware. Needing more showroom space to display an ever-growing inventory of jewelry, watches and giftware along with a larger workshop for the company's artists and jewelers, Dalzell & Co. moved up the street in 2005 to its current location at 41 North Williams Street, right on the Southeast corner of Williams and Brink Streets.
Following the renovation and move in 2005 to its larger corner location, Dalzell & Co. received a PICA award from the Crystal Lake Chamber of Commerce for the renovation of the building. And, year after year, Dalzell & Co. has won the Reader's Choice Awards for the Best Jewelry store in the area. Steve is an ardent contributor to the community and help to provide great recognition and support to many causes, organizations and services throughout Chicagoland. In addition, Dalzell & Co. belongs to both the International Jeweler's Organization (I.J.O.) as well as the prestigious American Gem Society (A.G.S.).
